At Serlin, Trivax & Associates, we provide clients with a full range of services in the areas of estate planning and tax law, probate litigation, probate of estates, elder law, and general business law.  We are experienced in handling pre- and post-mortem estate planning, including the probating of decedents' estates and the utilization of probate avoidance alternatives, such as revocable and irrevocable trusts, the retitling of assets, family limited partnerships and limited liability companies.  A significant portion of our tax and estate planning practice involves advising and representing our clients in matters regarding federal gift and estate taxes, state inheritance taxes, income taxes applicable to estates and trusts and their beneficiaries, private foundations, and charitable trusts.  We advise owners of family or other closely held businesses on all aspects of their operations from formation to tax and financial planning issues related to retaining the business within the family, including buy-sell agreements and recapitalizations.

When handling estate planning issues for individuals, we focus on surpassing a client’s financial, tax, and personal goals. We are sensitive to the fact that client decisions affect not only the client, but also family and other intended beneficiaries.  We will be pleased to travel to meet with the client at the client's residence to discuss the many specialized issues involved with estate planning and to provide legal services to the elderly and people with special needs.  We expect to provide clients with knowledgeable and effective tax, probate, and estate planning support and services.

Our office is located in the Park on the Green development on the south side of 12 Mile Road, just west of Halsted Road.
