DANIEL H. SERLIN, ESQ.
Dan brings a combination of law firm and corporate experience with him to The Serlin Group, PLLC. Dan concentrates his practice in estate planning, general business law, and probate administration, as well as the burgeoning area of elder law. Elder law is an area of interest and provides a nice synergy with Dan’s wife, Miry, who is a geriatric social worker and is available for counseling and facilitating elder law issues.
Prior to starting The Serlin Group, PLLC, Dan practiced at two of Michigan's larger law firms; Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer and Weiss, PC and Clark Hill, PLC. Dan's practice began in general corporate and securities law and slowly evolved into tax law & estate planning over time. After 5 years, Dan left large law firm practice to enter the legal publishing arena for four years, first managing Thomson West’s publishing, education and training relationships with the University of Michigan Law School, Notre Dame Law School, Ave Maria School of Law and Wayne State University Law School, and more recently as the National Manager of Sales & Account Management for West Law School Publishing. Dan and his staff were responsible for interacting with law professors across the country and increasing the use of West published case books and study aids in the law school market.
Dan received his bachelor's degree in Biopsychology from the University of Michigan and continued on to University of Michigan Law School for his law degree. During law school he was an associate editor and later on the editorial board of the University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform. After seven years in Ann Arbor, Dan bleeds maize & blue and has attended seven Rose Bowls and numerous NCAA tournament games in feeding his Wolverine fanaticism. Dan and his family live in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
